Nathan Tabor announced
his candidacy for Congress at his family business in Kernersville
on Wednesday, June 25th with a rally attended by 280 folks from across
the 5th District.
The rally was held at Revival Soy's 56,000 square foot warehouse and headquarters
which is a renovated tobacco warehouse in Kernersville. Longtime Winston-Salem
business leader and two time Republican nominee for Congress, Stu Epperson,
introduced Nathan.
Nathan's speech focused on four key themes: his deep roots in the district,
solid work ethic, strong values and how he's 'right for Congress' when it comes
to the issues.
On the issues, Tabor focused on how he will oppose tax increases while looking
to lower the tax burden on American families, support the President in fully
winning the war on terrorism, defend our traditional values of faith and family,
work to lower prescription drug prices for our seniors, and improve our children's
schools by making sure that local parents and teachers -- not Washington bureaucrats
-- are in charge.
The large turnout impressed both the local media who confirmed the count and
Republican Party leaders who commented on the fact that Tabor had "so
many supporters turning out in the middle of the day during the busy summer
months."
